The short answer: on a budget of about SAR 2,000 with ground coffee, choose the Bambino Plus (SAR 1,999). For a built-in grinder at about SAR 3,200, choose the Barista Express Impress: today it costs SAR 3,199, the same as the regular Express, with 25 grind settings instead of 16. On a SAR 3,500 budget, the Barista Touch (SAR 3,499) is now cheaper than the Barista Pro (SAR 3,599) despite its touchscreen and automatic milk wand. Sage is sold as Breville in other markets.

Decision rules

  • You buy ground coffee and don't want a grinder: Bambino Plus. The lightest machine in the group (5 kg) and the narrowest (19.5 cm).
  • You want to grind beans at the lowest cost: the Express Impress at the same price as the Express today; no reason to pick the older one while the gap is zero.
  • You drink a latte daily and want milk without practice: Barista Touch; its wand is automatic while the Pro and Express wands are manual.
  • You want the least effort in a semi-automatic machine: Touch Impress or Oracle Jet, but at roughly SAR 2,400 or more above the Touch.

Chance now: the Barista Touch costs less than the Pro

In most of our checks over the last 30 days the Barista Touch cost SAR 4,499. Today it is SAR 3,499, SAR 1,000 (22%) less. At this price you get a touchscreen and automatic milk wand for less than the Pro. It's a drop we recorded, and it may not last.

Checklist before buying

  1. Match the model number (such as SES880BSS), the 240 V rating and the plug.
  2. Check the seller and warranty; some offers come from sellers other than Amazon.
  3. Plan for beans: grinder machines need fresh beans to benefit from the grind settings.
  4. Compare the current price with its history, not the crossed-out price.
