How to choose a dishwasher in Saudi Arabia: six questions
Updated 6 Nov 2026 · As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Buying through our links costs you nothing extra.

The quick verdict: start with the space and connections, then place settings and the third rack, then noise, and price last. In our checks on 5 November 2026 the examples range from SAR 1,099 (12 place settings, 55 dB) to SAR 2,199 (14 place settings, 44 dB). Every extra riyal should buy a feature you need: more capacity or quieter running.
Six questions before buying
- Where will it go? Measure width, depth, height and door clearance. A standard freestanding dishwasher is 60 cm wide; if your space is 45 cm, look only at slim models.
- How many place settings? 12 usually suit one to three people; 14 suit bigger families or daily cooking.
- Do you need a third rack? A flat top rack for cutlery and long utensils frees the lower basket for pots. A normal cutlery basket is not a third rack.
- Is the kitchen open? If it opens onto the living room or you run it at night, aim for 44 dB or less.
- Is your water hard? In many Saudi cities it is; make sure the model has a softener salt reservoir.
- Is the price really a deal? Compare with the price history, not the crossed-out price.

Decision rules
- If budget comes first and 12 place settings are enough: Midea WQP125201CW, accepting 8 dB more noise than the next model.
- If the family is large: Midea WQP14W5233CS; 14 place settings and a third rack for SAR 317 over the cheapest.
- Between the 14-setting Midea (47 dB) and the Bosch Series 2 (48 dB) the noise gap is small and the price gap is SAR 283 in Midea's favour.
- If quiet matters most: 44 dB starts at SAR 2,199 in our examples. For a full comparison of quiet models read Bosch vs Midea.

Frequently asked questions
Should I start with the brand or the size?
With size and connections. A pricier machine doesn't fix a space that doesn't fit.
How many place settings does a family of five need?
Usually 14, especially with daily cooking. Check rack height if your pots are large.
Does 1 dB between 47 and 48 matter?
No. Don't pay more for it alone. The difference from 55 to 44 dB is what you notice in an open space.
When is a price really a deal?
When it is below its usual price in the history, not when a crossed-out price appears next to it.
